Dr. Roberto F. de Ocampo, presently the President of the prestigious Asian Institute of Management, has had a distinguished career that has included outstanding service in the public and private sectors and in the academe. His unprecedented achievements include, among others, pioneering the Rural Electrification Cooperatives Program of the Philippines, spearheading the Development Bank of the Philippines as its Chairman, and bringing the Philippine economy to its highest levels of economic prosperity as the nation's Secretary of Finance. 

In each of these activities, Dr. de Ocampo touched the lives of the citizens of his country by establishing programs that reduced poverty, expanded job opportunities and strengthened communities. Dr. de Ocampo has been a recipient of several international awards and recognitions that include: 

  • FINANCE MINISTER of the YEAR (1995) - Awarded by Euromoney Magazine (The First Filipino and first ASEAN to be conferred this award) 
  • ASIAN FINANCE MINISTER of the YEAR (1996) - Awarded by Euromoney Magazine) 
  • ASIAN FINANCE MINISTER of the YEAR (1997) - Awarded by Asiamoney Magazine) 
  • Association of Development Finance Institutions of Asia & the Pacific (ADFIAP) MAN of the YEAR (1997) - First recipient of this award.

Dr. de Ocampo has been conferred four Doctorates (Honoris Causa), and is a member of strategic international organizations including the Trilateral Commission, The Conference Board (New York), Bo'ao Forum for Asia and the Emerging Markets Forum.
