This “Lifetime Achievement” Award recognises Dr Tayeb Kamali’s contribution to strategic planning and implementation of higher learning. 

Dr. Tayeb A. Kamali is a change agent. As the Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT),and Group CEO of the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT), the first Technology Park in the UAE, Dr. Kamali as part of the Higher Colleges of Technology has worked to create a world leading eLearning institution through strategic implementation of laptop learning programmes. 

Dr. Kamali led the team that developed the vision for the first corporate university in the Gulf region and in 1999, translating the vision into reality, resulted in the Cert Thales Institute, of which he is Chairman of the Board. 

In 1995, he was the founding CEO of the first technology park in the region at CERT, the Center of Excellence for Research and Training the commercial arm of the HCT. Awards received include Frances’ highest educational award “Palmes Academiques” presented by French Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. 

While Dr. Kamali qualified as an aeronautical engineer, in his life he has assisted thousands of young people to reach for the skies with quality education.
