The Chief Minister recognises Human capital in Sarawak as a critical driver for the future. The focus on education has been a concentrated one. Access to quality and affordable education has been made possible with the establishing of world class Universities in the state. This has led to a significant increase in productivity and economic prosperity. His focus on improving service delivery has resulted in enhancing the quality of human capital in the Civil service. One of the major initiatives in Sarawak, the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) launched in 2008 is set to transform Sarawak into a developed State by the year 2030. The goal is to achieve high income economy for the state, and improve the quality of life for the people of Sarawak. This plan expected to run until 2030 aims to create 1.5 million jobs. The aspiration is to transform Sarawak into an advanced industrialised State.

What separates him from others is his unique ability to spot the trends and look deep into the future much before others could.
