The Contribution to the HR Community Award recognises Azmin's work in human capital development over the last two decades. 

This award recognises his contributions to people development in the Automotive and Retail Industry over the last 15 years. 

Though schooled in the UK and graduated in the US, Azmin has demonstrated a great understanding of local cultures. 

In his pioneering work in the field of training & development, Azmin headed the training department of Malaysia's second car company PERODUA with 2000 direct staff and 800 dealers. His work on developing skills and development programmes had been extremely impactful on the organisation. 

Subsequently with globalisation and the opening up of the retail sector in the region, Azmin joined a newly formed retail chain. He started the first Malaysian Retail School which has responsibility for training 10,000 staff in 300 stores nationwide. In the six months of 2007 Azmin has trained with only a small team very much the same number of pepple in the company trained in entire 2006 - nearly ten thousand participants in about 600 over training sessions.
